Alayna is Here!!

Most of you already know about the arrival of Alayna P. Jaramillo. Alayna was born Friday March 28th at 7:44 am California time! She weighed 7 lbs 10 ozs and was 20 inches long. I was actually suppose to be induced Friday at 4:00 in the morning, but Alayna wanted the delivery to be on her time so I went into labor at around 11:00 pm the night before. By 12:30, my contractions were only 5 minutes apart and since Arianna's birth was so quick, I figured I wouldn't take any chances so we went to the hospital.

The nurse at the registration desk didn't really think I was in labor since I was smiling, but I can assure you, I was in labor! Anyway, things progressed rather quickly Alayna came shortly after. My Dr. barely made it in time because I dialated from a 4 to an 8 in about 1 1/2 hours and said, "Don't move! Your water bag is buldging and I need to call your dr. If it breaks, she won't make it in time!" The nurse wasn't expecting things to progress that quickly...boy did she have a scared look on her face and I have not seen a nurse move so fast to get everything set up (as well as call my dr to tell her I was pretty much ready to push). My dr arrived about 20 minutes later and the rest is history!

There was a point where I actually heard my dr speaking with the nurse about not calling her sooner. My dr is very precautious so I understand her frustration, but I sort of felt bad for the nurse because she did a good job, and she wasn't expecting things to go the way they did...fast!

Anyway, even though I had no pain during labor, I sure felt everything as I was pushing Alayna out! It was intense! I made it though!!

Enjoy the pictures. I will be adding more later!

Congratulations! You guys deserve great blessings - children are the best blessings that life has to offer. However they come to us, they are our umbilical cord into eternity. What a beautiful baby!

best time to call since you have a new born again. YEAH!! I am so excited for you and Pat and Ari. I don't know if I think she looks all that much like Ari. I will have to look at more pictures until I meet her!! Love you!
